Meet Our Bishop
Rev. Dr. David McDonald is the first of four sons born to Bishop Leo and Minister Hazel McDonald in Birmingham, England. In 1984 he answered the call of God on his life and subsequently was baptized in March of 1985 at the Church of the First Born. Zealous for God, he immediately became involved in church ministry. He joined the Youth Choir, learned the art of sound engineering and within a short period of time, became the director of the Senior Choir along with his other commitments.
Inspired by the Lord, he formed the United Fellowship Choir in 1989, which was comprised of ten churches. He witnessed the spiritual revival of many young people as the choir traveled and performed with major recording artists, singing under the power, and anointing of the Holy Spirit.
In February 1992, under the leadership of his father, Bishop Leo McDonald, he was ordained an Evangelist in the First Community Church of God. During this time, he also served as the Youth President and Choir Leader. In 1998, he was appointed the Assistant Pastor and in August 2000, he was officially installed as the Pastor and in 2006 as General Overseer of First Community Church of God. In October 2008, Rev. McDonald was consecrated a Bishop in the Lord’s Church
He serves as Senior Pastor of First Community Triumphant Cathedral and Prelate for the First Community United Fellowship of Churches in New York, Florida, Kingston, and Spanish Town, Jamaica. He is a visionary leader who truly demonstrates a servant’s heart and an anointed speaker who brings a spirit of accountability, healing, and restoration to the body of Christ. His principal concordat is that souls, protocol, and order be esteemed in the body of Christ. The Adjutancy and Liturgics have become staples of his ministry.
Bishop McDonald holds memberships in the Joint College of Afro-American Pentecostal Bishops, and the International Council of Independent Pentecostal Bishops, where he serves as Secretariat, Treasurer, and Issuer of Holy Orders. In addition, he has an earned Doctorate Degree in Theology from Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary, and a Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Farmingdale. Bishop has taught the doctoral program for Mount Olive Bible Institute & Seminary and various courses for Bethel Bible Institute.
